To obtain much needed funds to fuel for the scholarship program during the COVID-19 time where it was not possible to bring an artist from Sri Lanka to hold an event, the AAUPCC organised a locally acquired musical event called හන්තානට පායන සඳ ‘(HPS). This idea was initially a seed planted in the mind of AAUPCC president, Pushpan Pitigala and agreed by the committee members at the very first committee meeting held in Dec 2020.

The first HPS has had come to life on stage on 27 February 2021 at Western Neighbourhood Hall in ACT.

The climax of the event was a moving performance with the newly formed musical group ‘ස්වර’ (Swara), and thirteen local vocalists; some of whom have never performed on stage. This event also led to form a creative group of videographers called ‘Events Canberra’, and later listed as one of the three best videographers in Canberra in 2021.

The show consisted twenty-three songs selected to tell a story – ‘ජීවිතය’ (life). The story was successfully bestowed by four talented storytellers. They captured the hearts of the audience, travelling through time to our mother land and relive the experience of one’s own life.  The ending left the audience with curiosity of what’s to come next.

During the break, koththu roti was prepared and served by the committee for dinner. At the entrance, the audience received free refreshments that consists of a welcome drink and a snack pact.
