Counselling and Psychological Support Unit (CaPSU) was launched 15 months ago, in August 2022 and has since catered to the psychological needs of approximately 900 students of the University of Peradeniya. The unit has 6 counsellors who serve on all 7 days of the week. All 6 counsellors are graduates in Psychology with additional qualifications in either a certificate course, diploma or higher degree in counselling, with at least 2 years of experience in counselling. Two of the counsellors are paid from the financial donations made by the Canberra chapter of the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya.
